The celebration of San Juan in Venezuela takes place on June 24, which coincides with the longest day of the year. The festivity is especially popular in the central states of Aragua, Miranda, Vargas and parts of Carabobo. Celebrations begin the night before, known as the night of San Juan, and are characterized by dances, music and rituals in honor of San Juan Bautista.
